Testimonials

"You definitely have a magic touch in conflict transformation. It was a really necessary and helpful conversation to mend some of the tension that my relationship was holding. Thank you for helping me prepare. I felt a lot of my anger and resentment melt away and felt glimmers of our old friendship and relationship return."

-Restorative Justice Practice Participant, America P.

"As a local government, we had funded two community-based partners to work within our underserved neighborhoods to plant trees and significant conflict arose during the collaboration process. After attempts to diffuse the situation, we realized, and our partners also requested, professional help from a neutral source to address the conflict. We followed a few suggestions of folks in the field of restorative justice practice and eventually were connected with Erica and her colleague Ramon Parish. As soon as I first met Erica, I knew right away that we had found the right person for the job. She led with professionalism, curiosity, and empathy from the very start, and never waivered from these qualities throughout our work together.

The conflict that was to be resolved was some of the most complex and deep seeded of which I have ever been a part, and it became clear that this was to be a long and involved process. Erica worked very hard on this project and it was also clear that true and complete conflict transformation is something in which she personally believes. I am impressed with Erica’s persistence to see the project through and the respect that she showed to everyone. Not only did she go above and beyond to help our partners get to a place where we could move forward together, but she also has prepared a comprehensive conflict transformation resource toolkit for our entire office to use in future conflicts between community partners in our city.

Erica has made a very positive impact on our work with the communities that we serve and we are grateful. I would recommend Erica to others facing similar conflict issue and would definitely work with her again!"

“I really liked and appreciated Erica. Her passion and knowledge for RJ really shined through. I felt Erica really wanted us to learn about the impacts that gender, race, background can have on a process and how to be aware of these things so our process will have the greatest chance of success. Erica also was able to balance the session with activities that brought our group closer together and encouraged group learning and thinking.”

“Erica did an amazing job, especially with Zoom participants! It is a lot to cover, with people from all different experiences and backgrounds, and she did so with a smile, grace and humor. She listened patiently as I explained the challenges I felt as an introvert.”

“I loved Erica’s land acknowledgment and it's given me a lot to think about. I also appreciated how the land acknowledgement was tied into RJ, like if we're going to talk about harm, we need to talk about the First Harm, genocide against Native Americans.”

“Erica is an AMAZING facilitator. So prepared. Erica explains things in such a beautiful, restorative fashion. She was easily able to address questions. Her reframe and ability to restate folks succinctly floored me. Incredible.”

“Erica was masterful in holding space for our team after a deeply challenging situation that caused a big rupture, especially between board and staff. She understood how much collective hurt and disappointment there was as a result of the situation. Erica was a catalyst for the deepening of our relationships during the height of conflict. I felt proud when we had our final meeting with her. We emerged from our RJ experience with Erica a stronger team with more trust between and among staff and board.”
